- Leave Inverness, passing the castle and riding through peaceful parkland.
- Join the Caledonian Canal briefly before navigating out of the city.
- Soon you connect with the Great Glen Way, where the real adventure begins.
- Follow very well-waymarked trails all the way south.
- The terrain changes immediately as you leave Fort Augustus.
- Tackle the legendary Corrieyairack Pass, your first major challenge of the day.
- Ride an old 1700s military road, climbing steadily to the summit.
- The ascent is often steep but manageable — take your time and enjoy the views.
- Begin the day with more of the fantastic riding you enjoyed on Day 2.
- Transition onto smooth tarmac sections, even in places you might not expect.
- Relax and enjoy the ride — these road stretches are still incredibly scenic.
- Roll into the charming town of Killin.
- Leave Killin riding along an old railway path, allowing fast, flowing progress.
- Distance depends on whether you choose the Glen Ample option.
- Glen Ample is deceptively tough but highly rewarding — strongly recommended.
- Both route options rejoin at Loch Lubnaig, a stunning meeting point.
