  • Begin at Inverness Castle and head southwest.
  • Ride through parkland and cross the Caledonian Canal before linking with the Great Glen Way.
  • Cycle along the west side of Loch Ness, with stunning Highland views at every turn.
  • Expect plenty of climbs and rough trail sections — this isn’t flat terrain.
Day 2 Fort Augustus → Corrour / Loch Ossian area

  • Today’s ride hits the iconic Corrieyairack Pass, an old military road with steep climbs.
  • The surface is mostly gravel and rough trail with spectacular Highland views.
  • Descend carefully once over the pass — route features rocky sections and water bars.
  • Continue through remote forest tracks, lochside paths, and open moorland.
Day 3Corrour → Loch Rannoch / Killin area

  • Enter the southern Highlands nearing Loch Rannoch and then area around Killin.
